"Left sitting in hard high chair for 7 hours."

About: Whiston Hospital / Accident and emergency

My husband of 82 years was admitted by GP to B1 suffering from shortness of breath, heart failure and Parkinson's disease. Plus loss of nearly 3 stone in weight down to 9 stone from 13 stone. He is also jaundiced. The following morning he was moved out of his bed and left to sit in a hard backed armchair for 7 hours. He is now suffering from a bad back and is even more unwell. When asked why he was left like that for so long, we were greeted by a nurse with a bad attitude telling us how hard they work and was actually quite aggressive. Some nurses are lovely but a few who actually make the patient worse.

We are sorry that your husband's care was not of the high standard we expect.

We take all feedback seriously and we have shared this with the Ward Manager so that we can learn from this. Please contact our PALS team on 0151 430 1376 if you would like to discuss this further.
