I was treated well during 2008 to 2009 by all the staff when I had 3 endoscopies, after 2 of them I was told I was being referred to a surgeon urgently but that never happened - I waited and waited and eventually contacted my own gp who arranged a consultation at another hospital. However at that consultation the surgeon did not have results of endoscopies so suggested another one which was 5 weeks after my third, I decided that I no longer had confidence in the system and would try to manage my condition myself and refused the kind offer! Perhaps the staff who deal with referrals need to be more vigilant.
