"Treatment received for Severe nose bleed after..."

On 5th April I tripped while walking down from an afternoon in the Mendips.

I landed mainly on my nose. which bled profusely. I also sustained bruises and cuts to my upper lip, my lower ribs, my hands and arms. My husband helped me reach the car and then drove straight to Clevedon MIU, where we arrived with blood still pouring from my nose.

I was attended to straight away. A nurse examined me and cleaned me up and managed to stop the bleeding for a short while. Another nurse was then asked to hold my nose for 10 minutes, which slowed the flow to an intermittent weep. Because of the bruising, the first nurse could not confirm if my nose was broken. They checked that my teeth were OK and and that I had not suffered other head injuries. They treated the cut on my lip. They explained what I needed to do,on my return home and gave me a leaflet and some cream for my nose. Also they explained what I should do if the bleeding recurred and what action to take should the nose turn out to be broken; It wasn't.

The treatment I received was excellent and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Hello

Firstly, I hope that you are now fully recovered from what sounds like a terrible fall.

Thank you for taking the time to write an account of your visit, especially when you are recovering from your injuries, the lovely feedback is very welcome indeed.

When the staff hear such kind words it really makes a difference to them and gives them a lift so thank you.

I hope that this incident hasn't put you off walking in our beautiful countryside.

Kind regards
