What I liked
I was admitted to Good Hope by my community midwife as I had high blood pressure and protein in my urine, all indicative of pre eclampsia. I arrived at the maternity ward in the hospital, and was seen by two doctors, diagnosed with pre eclampsia and made comfortable in a private room within a very short space of time, having been informed that I would be staying in and would be induced the following day. Everybody who dealt with me, including nurses, doctors, caterers, cleaners etc were fantastic. I always like to fully understand what the issues are and didn't even have to ask as I was always kept informed and decisions were explained in full. The staff on the maternity ward were exceptional, very focused, pleasant and positive.
What could be improved
My only criticism would have to be the parking. When I was admitted, one of the car parks was undergoing refurbishment, therefore there were many cars trying to secure very few spaces. The cost of parking is also unecessarily high. I was in hospital for 6 days and between my husband and family, we must have spent a lot of money on parking.
Anything else?
I would not hesitate to recommend Good Hope maternity department and thank all of the staff who dealt with me and my family while I was there and especially the midwives who helped deliver my daughter.
