What I liked

I went to A&E and the waiting time was 2hrs although the desk staff realised i needed to see a doctor and was seen within 20minutes. from here i saw a surgeon to be assessed and within 2hrs i was in the operating theatre.

During all my time in the hospital everything was explained and nothing was left un checked. The staff made me feel they were completely in control and filled me with confidence.

During my stay in hospital i saw training doctors going round with senior established staff passing on their skills.

I really had no idea the NHS in York was this good, i understand that waiting times can be a pain when you have broken a bone or high a less life theatening illness but when it comes to treating you when your really ill the service is fantastic.

All the staff were upbeat and always smilling allowing you to feel as at home as possible.

What could be improved

I heard the nurses saying that bedding was limited and they needed more, so i guess this needs to be looked at. Thats it really, i have not said any of this lightly as normally im very picky and hard to please but credit where credit is due.
