About: Good Hope Hospital

What I liked

Good Hope saved my life - that's a good start!

Having had chest pain diagnosed locally as a back sprain, I ended up at Good Hope at midnight on a Sunday night. Staff at A&E worked out very quickly that it wasn't a back sprain, but I'd suffered a heart attack.

I stayed in coronary care for a week, and had an angiagram to confirm the heart attack, before being transferred elsewhere for an angiaplasty and stent.

Cleaners, ambulance drivers, nurses, doctors - everybody did all they could for me - nothing was too much trouble.

Coronary rehabilitation was arranged for me, which I was able to do in Lichfield.

I was back to work in a couple of months, and I'm now back at the gym doing 45 minute spinning classes.

Thank you Good Hope!

What could be improved

Could the hospital shop please sell sanitary protection? I know coronary care doesn't get many women who need it!

Anything else?

Good Hope were absolutely brilliant - they told me if I ever had any slight niggle or worry to come straight back to them, which I have done once. I didn't want to seem stupid or fussing, and they were lovely at A&E again - turns out I'd had a chest infection, but as they said in A&E - you can't be too careful!
