"Outstanding patient care!"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gastroenterology (Stomach and gut problems) Wards 8b, 8c &8d

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Ward 8D of Queen Elizabeth Hospital at the end of March 2017 for 10 days following 9 months of gastro symptoms. Everything came to a head one day, and I was kindly and promptly seen by Dr Sarwar and referred to the Ward.

The care I received during my admission was nothing but outstanding. The team went above and beyond to help me come to terms with my diagnosis and finally get on medication to help. Dr Clarke was my consultant during my admission, and truly an outstanding doctor, as are his team of junior doctors.

The nursing team truly do such a hard job but always with a smile on their faces (Lindsey, Laura, Lauren, Lorraine, Robert) to name only a few that made my stay as pleasant as it could be!

And the support team that made sure my room was always tidy, I had tea in my hand, and dinner to eat. Thank you all!

As a fellow healthcare professional, I am so proud of the NHS we have and you have inspired me immensely!
Nothing could be improved - just keep doing what you are doing!

Dear RachelMcD

Thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion. Firstly, I am glad to read that after months of symptoms, you finally got a diagnosis. Secondly, I am also glad to read about the level of care that you received whilst you were in ward 8D of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The way you felt about the care, is how we would like all of our patients to feel.

I will ensure that your kind words are shared with the staff, especially those that you have named. They will all be delighted to receive your feedback.

I hope you are now recovering well at home.

Best wishes
Lisa
