"Day patient operation"

As always, I was impressed by the professionalism, good humour and courtesy of NHS nursing staff, who do a great job in sometimes difficult circumstances. The ward sister and the staff were no exception.

I was taken up for the operation a bit early and had a lengthy wait for the procedure to start.

Post op, I was slow to recover from the anaesthetic and missed much of the advice given by the surgeon. Following the procedure, I suffered from chronic hiccups for about 3 days. Some info/warning would have helped.

I have also suffered from constipation, which has led to difficult and painful bowel movements. I accept that this is not unusual, but some advice on laxatives would have been helpful.

Having said this, I was impressed by and grateful for the treatment received at your hospital.
