"Polite, pleasant and professional."

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I had a minor procedure to remove a cyst on my lower eyelid today. The consultant was Excellent. She was extremely polite, pleasant and professional. She explained everything very well and answered all my questions.........and no pain!

I was disappointed to see that there were No hand cleaning dispensers anywhere in the hospital entrance, including the restaurant, cafe and outside the toilets.

Dear LouMc

thank you very much for your great feedback. it's lovely for the staff to receive this, and I'll ensure that your comments are passed on to the team, including the consultant who was on today.

With regards to your comments about the hand gel; when we looked at the possibility of doing this we felt that there was a significan safety risk in putting hand cleaning dispensers in these places. The hand gel is alcohol based, and the public areas are unsupervised, so the risk of the dispensers being tampered with or abused was of consern to us as if ingested, the gel would be very harmful, given the strength we need to use.

Once again thank you so much for your feedback

Susan
