I have had excellent treatment at the Ocology Unit at Wishaw General. From my first visit when I was terrified and staff took the time to reassure and explain. Lorraine, Angela, Gerry and the team are professional, compassionate and above all hard working. I have been there only many occasions when they have been short staffed and have gone without breaks to ensure that patient care does not suffer. I would suggest that they could be doing with some more staff to assist.
They create a light hearted atmosphere and all patients I have spoken to agree that this is fundamental to the treatment that we are facing. I never thought for a minute I could come away from a chemotherapy session feeling uplifted.
They also do an excellent job of signposting to other services and nothing is too much trouble.
