My review starts from just before xmas 2016 when I took myself to Barnsley hospital suffering from breathing difficulties.
When I arrived I had to wait for a acceptable amount of time and when i finally got seen I was hooked up to a ecg machine and bloods etc were taken.
All good for now !!!
As my breathing and heartbeat was racing I knew I was going to be admitted but the doctors suspected a clot on the lung and started me on a course of injections into the belly.
this continued throughout the night at various times whilst my bloods and results were checked out.
I was also given a xray of my chest lungs etc to which I can only assume they were checking for the nasty word.
At about 3:30am a consultant came and woke me up and said they didn't think it was a clot on the lung but would continue with the injections.
I asked the question was it cancer and was told NO which came as a relief.
All good treatment up to now.
During all this time I was moved from one ward to another not sure name of wards.
Basically over the next 24 hours I was subjected to further tests xrays etc and later in the afternoon a consultant came abruptly and said quite rudely that I had a bad heart and it was not good !!!!!!
This sent me into a silent panic as It was not told to me in a compassionate way at all they then left and came back two hours later and said they had spoken to the cardiologist and was given a new drug to take and was told that I would be treated as a outpatient.
Later that day I was discharged but was not given any information at all only that I would be getting a appointment ASAP with a heart specialist.
All this time I have been suffering from a dull ache around the heart area and to this time still am.
I eventually got an appointment to see the cardiologist for
February 6th BUT this was cancelled and a further appointment made for March 27th.
In the meantime I had been to the hospital on two occasions suffering from the pains and aches around my heart but the ecg and tests indicated that I was not in danger of a heart attack.
At no time was I given a explanation for the aches.
lso during this time I have been to my Doctor's with the aches and pains to try and get an explanation on one occasion I was told I had aerophagia ( no )
The next time I went to my doctors who dismissed it and told me to tell the cardiologist about it.
March 27th came and I went to see the cardiologist ok I had to wait a while due to them being busy.
I took a list of questions I wanted to ask about my condition but they were to busy to listen and all they said was that I should stop drinking and return to see them in 6 months but in the meantime they will arrange a angiogram at some point.
I know that I have a mild form of cardiomyopathy and something else which has not been explained,
I still have the aches and pains around my heart and will be seeing my doctor to ask if I can see a different cardiologist and attend a different hospital altogether.
Scared and unsure.
"bad from start till now"
