Attended today for an out patient appointment with my elderly dad. We were asked to get an X-ray So went off up the corridor clutching a handwritten request form and reported to the desk. This little piece of paper went into a box and we waited in total nearly an hour to have his femur x rayed. This paper then had to be taken back to the clinic. The Registrar was waiting for my dad. Surely in the 21st century we can do better than requests on pieces of paper and for a speedier throughput in x ray?
We had arrived at 2pm for a 2. 30 appointment but still kept the doctor waiting because of the very outdated system of waiting in clinic to be told to go to x ray and then a long wait. He had been warned that he'd need an x ray on his previous visit. Why couldn't we go directly there and at least save some time?
Otherwise, a good hospital with kind and friendly staff.
