"XRay waiting times"

About: Royal Orthopaedic Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

I have been an outpatient at ROH for several years now for a chronic condition. Last week at my apointment I was sent for x-rays, the first for a few years. I waited an hour to be called in for these. The receptionist offered no information about how long the wait would be just 'take a seat'. The radiographer told me it is normal to wait 1-3 hours! Surely this indicates that you just don't have the capacity you need? After all, a hospital that specialises in bones might expect to take many X-rays? Also the communication of the waiting time needs to be improved; not just leave people sitting there with no information.

Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks for your feedback about waiting times in X ray. I know that the department has been working on how to make appointments more efficient in recent months. I will make sure that your feedback is passed on to the manager of the department and hopefully there will be an improvement in the coming months.

Best wishes

Sally Xerri-Brooks
