I had an endoscopy appointment which revealed a very serious flare of UC. The endoscopist is the most amazing doctor with complete understanding of my sensitivity [so gave me a choice of sedation level!] and who firstly decided it was important that I was admitted to the hospital that very evening. The consultant then made a point of visiting me twice over the following 10 days I was an in-patient to simply ask how I was; just incredible over and above level of service. Then the ward staff and all the IBD team of doctors: incredible once again - you'd never know that they had loads of other patients to attend to on a day to day basis, I was daily given an update on my progress and ongoing plans for treatment - I honestly felt like a VIP [have to admit that having a room to myself did help a bit towards this part]. From the lovely people who made me tea and brought my food, to the top guys making the treatment decisions, I received phenomenal care at world-class level for the entirety of my stay as an NHS guest. Thank you, thank you.
