"Outstanding experience in Urgent Care"

About: Trafford General Hospital / Accident and emergency Trafford General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was injured at a sporting event but was also complaining about her ears. I had noticed that her hearing had been deteriorating.

We attended the Urgent Care Centre at Trafford General Hospital as initially it was thought to be broken. I expected a long wait on a Saturday evening and was unsure of how long the wait would be as a first time user.

On arrival we booked in and met by Meryl who immediately put my daughter at ease. My daughter had an x ray and her hand was dealt with extremely efficiently. Whilst there Sue (another nurse sorry don't know last names) identified an issue with my daughters ears. This was quickly assessed and treatment arranged.

I am so impressed with the unit. We often hear criticism of the NHS but sadly don't often hear the positives.

Both these nurses were highly professional, efficient and effective and I have no doubt that this is the standard of the unit which is clearly well managed. My daughter came away telling me how nice the nurses were and she clearly recognised the positive experience and treatment she had received.

Hopefully the managers are already aware how fantastic their unit and nurses are. Well done. I would highly recommend the Urgent Care Centre at Trafford General Hospital.

Thank you for your comments posted on the NHS Choices website regarding the care you received from the Urgent Care Centre of the Trafford General Hospital.

It was very kind of you to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects their hard work and dedication. It is reassuring to know that your daughter was immediately seen to and assessed by the nurses and that they placed her at ease.

We were also pleased to read that your daughter felt that the nurses were nice and that her experience was a positive one. We can assure you that we have passed on your feedback on to the Urgent Care Centre Manager and the staff involved.
