I went nervously today to the Maxillo facial unit after being referred by my dentist. My teeth and gums are in a terrible state and apart from being terrified I was embarrassed.
The staff were fully aware of my phobia were kind, compassionate and non judgemental.
After an x ray the consultant who saw me let me sit in a normal chair so I was more at ease (especially after I burst into tears and was blubbling like a baby!) and explained because he had the x ray all they needed to do was shine a torch in my mouth. The consultant agreed totally I needed a general for any treatment and was so nice to me about it all it made me wish I had been able to get there sooner.
I cant praise the staff enough , from reception, to the nurses and consultant they are all wonderful. My only concern is the long waiting lists but I know that isn't there fault.
