"Rehab"

About: Gosport War Memorial Hospital

Had a phone call saying there was a bed and would be contacted later that day from Sultan ward.

Never happened.

Wife had to call to see what time expecting me in.

On arrival at ward very abrupt reception from the nurse on charge.

Night nurses didn't like it when they had to change my bed through my incontinence.

Had to wait ages during day to go to toilet and the. It was too late.

Hence that since I have been home my incontinence is worse.

Not allowed to move about without help, mobility is now zero.

Feel that the rehab was a waste of time and resources.

Communication with Adult Services was terrible.

Every day was informed that the nursing staff were waiting to hear from Adult Services for care package before discharge.

When contacting Adult Services was informed that they did not know anything about me.

I am very sorry to hear about the care you received Sultan Ward and Gosport War Memorial Hospital.

I am also sorry for the poor communication that you experienced about the availability of bed and for the unacceptable manner of the nurse when you were admitted.

I would assure you that we take all concerns seriously and wish to learn from our patients experiences. Please be assured that the Trust strives to provide quality services that meet the requirements of our patients, however, on this occasion I am sorry that we did not meet your needs and apologise for the upset and distress this caused you.
