I waited over 27 weeks for an outpatient appointment and only after a re referral they called to give me a "sudden cancellation". My own experience was a reminder of how much I think the department has further to go to improve the service considering I wasn’t checked apart from feeling I actually had a pulse.
The staff seemed in such a rush to leave after only 2 minutes whilst I'd waited early that morning for almost an hour before I was seen. How is that possible? I felt that neither staff paid any attention to me, nor did I feel that they listened to me. They were rude and left the room after a brief 2 minute comment that I didn't have anything wrong with my kegs as I had had an Ultrasound 2 and half years previously so that was it. I was not expecting to have a rerun of a historical test, but to be seen as a current patient currently in a lot of pain. It's irrelevant what was done nearly 3 years previous. A lot can happen in that time. Besides how can they check you fully dressed and without checking properly?
I felt anxious, rushed and upset by the time I gathered my thoughts together. Outrageous to treat patients like that.
"Long wait for only 2 minutes"
