"Waiting for hours, went home unseen"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

short story, day staff done their job with care, took my blood and sample... then left for 7 hours sitting in pain, the whole room was filled and emptied of waiting people twice, I was left till 11pm asking unhelpful night staff who seemed disinterested what was happening with me, was told doctor doing rounds on ward... sorry thought this was a emergency ward triage, then after another 2 hours of being blanked, asked again, was told they were cleaning the upstairs room for my overnight stay... eerrrr hello no ones even been to see me, or look me over? ? ? so why the bed? ? this went on for hours, last time I asked, oooh why are you here again....went home unseen, total waste of time, still in pain..thanks for making me feel like I was in the way.

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback.

We are really sorry to hear about your bad experience recently in our A&E department at the Royal Infirmary. We are disappointed that you were left waiting for a long time and that you are still suffering and in pain following your visit.

We would like to look into your concerns in more detail, so if you are happy to do so, please email: communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk with your name, address, date of birth and hospital number (if known) and we can pass this onto the team to investigate further.

Kind regards
