My husband had emergency renal care February 2016.
We were both v frightened and did not know what to expect,
He was on Prince Wales Ward and hospital dialysis for approx 6/8 weeks.
After this he was given the option of PD which apparently is not so harsh on your heart(he underwent heart transplant in 1995).
The nurses involved in this have been really good and always try and answer any queries (no matter how trivial they are) and give us confidence in dealing with this dreadful illness.
He has been on CAPD for approx 8 months now - although it is a bind at times, at least he can live a relatively normal life.
We can't thank all the staff involved in his care enough -
e would like to nominate all of the staff for the Wow Award.!
"Renal specialist nurses and team."
