What I liked

A very impressive set up, highly professional.

What could be improved

I underwent a knee arthroscopy procedure on 20th Feb.I am a hirsute person, and I was surprised when my knee was not shaved as part of a pre op procedure. I then assumed that traditional stitches would be used. With post op exercises and gentle walking over the weekend, the bandage rode downwards and loosened. When I removed it on Sunday morning, I found to my surprise that steri-strips had been used, and had NO chance of sticking to my skin to bind the wounds. I did not want to shave the area as there were two open wounds, so I made some 'hour glass' shape plasters from elastoplast and coated the closed wounds with with new skin glue.

They are still in place and the wounds are healing nicely.

Anything else?

A bit more consideration for us ' hairie's ' !

Prior to Friday 20th, I had not undergone any surgical procedure for over 40 years. Every member of staff who cared for me that day could see, and sense, that I was Very nervous and anxious about the procedure. I was treated by every one of them in the most sensitive and kindly manner, which really did help me.

Thank you all so much
