"I feel so alone and let down"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire University Hospital Monklands / General Medicine (Wards 2,10,12 and 17)

(as the patient),

After having my boy almost 3 yrs ago I suffered post natal depression. I was eventually signed off by my CPN but she was aware their was something not quite right.

I have heavy weak limbs, ibs like symptoms, headaches extreme fatigue, memory loss and severe lack of concentration, sore throat, dizziness and more.... after months of bloods, folic acid, b12 tabs and various other medication I was referred to monklands where a doctor sat in a room with me for 5 minutes, said I had post viral chronic fatigue, that their was nothing to be done and dismissed me.

I eventually had the energy to go back to docs for help for my dizziness, heavy limbs and all over pain only to be told I don't have any of these symptoms and I am depressed and anxious! I am to a degree, but only due to my frustration of my illness and inability to carry out normal everyday tasks.

I feel so alone and let down by the nhs and doctors I have dealt with and don't know where else to turn. I think something has to change and I would never want any1 to feel as alone and unheard as I have.

Dear Marym347

Thank you for posting your experience at Monklands Hospital, I'm sorry that this hasn't been more positive for you and that you feel so alone and let down.I appreciative having toddler and trying to manage the various symptoms you describe is very challenging.

It's important we learn from your feedback, however I'm not sure which clinic you attended, if you would contact Melanie MacLean, Patient Affairs Manager on 01236 713065 to give further details I would be very grateful.

Kind regards

Ruth
