About: Good Hope Hospital

What I liked

I was seen quite quickly at A&E.

What could be improved

Consultants could be more interested in their patients concerns. Nurses should be friendly and help patients and support the consultants. Many of the nurses seem a little arrogant and don't seem to appreciate how traumatic an operation can be for a patient.

Anything else?

Consultant did not inspire confidence. He had to carry out an emergency operation and he did it alone. My friend had to help him at one point. His initial assessment turned out to be incorrect and he said with hindsight I should have had the operation done under a general anaesthetic. He had to inject my limb about 6 times with local anaesthetic. The aftercare was appalling. I will not use Good Hope again.
