Our son Joshua was safely delivered on the 13th January 2017 - we are just full of praise for all the staff on the labour suite and the postnatal ward who were absolutely wonderful. The midwifes who helped deliver Joshua were very supportive, keeping us in the loop, and made the experience the best it could be! They are both an absolute credit to their profession. We are both naturally quite curious, wanting to know what's going on during the experience, and they were fantastically patient with us.
The ward was clean, tidy, and quiet; we were provided with food and drink when needed and we felt safe during a very vulnerable time. We were given excellent breast feeding support allowing us to go home promptly and start enjoying family life.
In regards to any criticism all I could say was that the chairs in the side rooms are a little uncomfortable to sleep in; I don't know if pull down beds are possible but I am really nit-picking here.
There is no doubt that if we ever have children again we will have no hesitation in going back to the QE to have them. We are eternally grateful for their crucial role in our lives. Thank You!
"Absolutely outstanding maternity department."
