"From start to finish I could not have wished for faster, more efficient service"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Emergency Department South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

I thought I was having a heart attack.  I've suffered from anxiety for most of my life and had many panic attacks. This was different, it came from nowhere and I was convinced I was having a heart attack. My wife rang the emergency services. Paramedics arrived in under 20 minutes, the lovely Hannah & Jess.

They warmly but professionally calmed me down & immediately made me feel safe and less worried about the situation. They very quickly & efficiently did an ECG which showed I hadn't had and wasn't experiencing a heart attack.

I felt guilty for wasting their time but at no point did they make me feel I was, explaining I had done the right thing. Jess is a trainee and Hannah her mentor, what a team!

In the 30 minutes they were with me before the ambulance arrived I became convinced that Hannah is a perfect mentor for Jess and Jess will be an incredible Paramedic. Thank you both: -)

When the ambulance arrived, Stuart & Phillip took me to Treliske. Stuart stayed with me the whole journey and was a calming influence, he explained what I was experiencing and again put me at ease and mind at rest.

Phil & Stuart stayed with me in Treliske till I was handed over to the A & E Deparment and were absolute gentleman. I was discharged 5 hours after my arrival having had bloods taken and a chest x-ray all showing no abnormalities.

From start to finish I could not have wished for faster, more efficient service from our incredible NHS. To Jess & Hannah, Phil & Stuart I say a heartfelt thank you.
