"Admitted afternoon of 27/2/17"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Accident and emergency

Relative by GP and sent immediately by ambulance to hospital - diagnosis sepsis with enough red markers.

Waited 40 minutes nhs in a line to be triaged - no pain relief offered until requested.

Placed in a chair in corridor . Yes the Dept was busy but no sign of urgency amongst staff - just kept hearing excuses like it's like this all the time , put complaints in writing. The Sister in charge was very aloof talked down to their staff and patients and relatives and clearly was in charge of the situation which escalated matters. Patient care was lacking on many levels - as for dignity and respect I think that was long off the radar!

Yes the NHS is under pressure but the lack of management, leadership and just basic care contributed to what was a terrible experience.

My relative was finally admitted after being in the Dept fir 15 hours! Sepsis protocol was delayed despite GP telling us that's what was wrong. Let's hope the care on the wars is better. There's enough info for this to be investigated so please no platitudes like "contact us to discuss".
