What I liked
Bodmin is a beautiful hospital with wonderful caring staff.....but......
What could be improved
Today the 24th November 2008 I visited Bodmin Anchor Ward. I have been visiting my dad in Anchor for the last 5 weeks and have been getting increasingly concerned about the number of staff that are left to deal with a large number of patients. They are doing a fantastic job under ever increasing pressure. The majority of patients are well over 70 and many suffering from dementia amongst other age related problems. The staff are running around like headless chicken most of the time and patient visitors are actually having to help keep an eye on patients and make sure they are being looked after because the nurses are so busy that they cannot deal with all the problems that are arising. The nurses are fantastic but they are at their wits end as it is obvious to all who visit this hospital. I have been hearing a lot of people voicing their concerns so please give this lovely hospital more staff help or I believe an accident or worse is going to happen.
Anything else?
I am worried about the pressure and work load that your staff are under. Something has got to give!!!
