"Operation cancelled 3 times"

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh)

(as a parent/guardian),

My Granddaughter was due to get operation in November, which was cancelled the day before she went in, I had to phone and pester hospital for a new date, which we finally got for January, this time they brought her in the day before, yet again it was cancelled, we then got a date for February and again she was brought in the day before, and for a third time it was cancelled on the day which now means it has been cancelled 3 times. I do understand that the need for intensive care beds is high at this time of year at Royal hospital for sick kids in Edinburgh but throughout this we have only had one letter of apology.

I currently feel very disgruntled and let down by NHS Lothian, the consultant told us this morning that we are now looking at the end of April for a new date, 8 weeks away! Left wondering if the same will happen and the operation will be cancelled for a fourth time.
