Our 3yr old son had been getting bouts of ear infections for months, 2 weeks on, 4 weeks off. Our local GP would only prescribe antibiotics every time. 3 months ago we took him to the OOH service at Tonbridge Cottage Hospital and were seen by a superb older GP. he looked in my sons ear and noticed a badly infected burst ear drum. He said it was hard to spot.
He prescribed antibiotics and told us to make an emergency appointment with our GP.
When we called in the Monday morning, we made the appointment and our GP was able to see the summary notes from our visit to ooh and this made his diagnosis, referral to hospital and subsequent grommet and adenoid operation easier to make.
The OOH service in Kent is one of the best. thank you
