"I don't think this is the right ward for me"

About: St Andrew's Healthcare Birmingham / Hazelwell

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have been in care for 14 years from high secure to medium secure units. I have been here a little while now,  but I think this is not the right ward for me. It feels like a backward step and I think I need to be  on a rehab ward. My first day here was very welcoming but I was not offered a patient buddy. You can have more stuff here in your rooms and the food is much better than other places I have been in.

Thank you for your feedback. I really like the idea of a patient buddy system, and plan to explore this further in Birmingham, as it is used successfully on some wards. It is good that you feel that you have more access to your property as it is really important that you can personalise your bedrooms.
