"I saw a Dr about Adult ADHD here, ..."

About: Priory Hospital Altrincham

What I liked

I saw a Dr about Adult ADHD here, and despite being told by the NHS years ago that I'd grow out of ADHD when I got to 16 this person agreed that ADHD continues into adulthood. The Dr. seemed very knowledgable on the condition, although many other places on the internet I've been on recommend the use of medication to control adult ADHD (this is also the NICE recommendations), he has suggested psychological therapy might be better instead of medication.

What could be improved

After my initial assessment I have been left in the dark since July about what is going on. I filled in the forms and returned them to The Priory and didn't hear anything back from them. As is typical with people with ADHD, we go through fads of things, so getting my ADHD sorted then was a bit of a fad, and then I switched to something else, without anyone keep reminding me it has taken me up until October to contact my Dr. about what has happened regarding this. When I contacted my Dr. he just told me to contact the Priory. The Priory have just told me that they are still waiting on the PCT to organise funding. It would have been more helpful though if they had contacted me after a month or two to let me know what was going on, instead of me contacting them 4 months down the line.
