I moved from the Adolescent service to Pritchard ward about 2 to 3 years ago. It was better in the Adolescent service as we used to go out off the ward every day. Every Wednesday we also went to the gym and swimming pool. Sometimes there are not enough staff to take you out. One Saturday, there were only just two visible staff on the ward between 12 noon and 3 pm. The nurse in charge did ring round to get more staff which turned up later. Generally the care here is good. I asked a member of staff to ring the café to see if it was open, they responded that they had better things to do. Afterwards, I thought to myself, they can't be doing that, I was really annoyed. When I first came here, I was shy and would not engage with psychology sessions. I feel more confident now and more able to engage with things. At the patient garden party, I managed to engage with the players from Northampton Town Football Club to help run the penalty shoot out. I was also engaging with lots of other patients and staff who wanted to have a go. I would not have been able to do that when I first came here.
I hope to go to low secure and stay here at St Andrew's. It will be helpful to me to stay in a familiar environment and routine. The grounds are lovely.
I look forward to attending Friday football. This keeps me going all week.
"Generally good"
