I attended the above unit to have a procedure to correct a Inguinal Hernia.
Obviously being very apprehensive I arrived at 08. 00 hrs for the morning list under the care of Mr Khaira.
From the first minute of meeting the receptionist to the final discharge my care was exceptional.
I was shown to a bed in one of the wards B4 and requested to change to a gown provided and a pair of pants in preparation for my procedure.
I was visited by Mr Khaira who I understand was to perform my procedure Laparoskopically and he explained the operation and the subsequent risks.
I was also visited by the Anesthetist, who also explained the procedure.
At 10. 15 I was taken to the theatre and woke up approx 1. 15 hours later in the recovery ward and attended to on a one on one basis by a male nurse.
After a period of time I was returned to the ward.
My care in all this time was second to none, I would like to thank the Ward Sister Emily for her very kind words and attention and all of her staff including the lady who made me some toast and coffee!
In these days when it is very easy to criticise our NHS system, this experience for me was the very best.
My advice to anyone who is about to go through their procedure here........... Don't worry, they are the very best.
Thank you The Good Hope Day Surgery Unit.
