"disgusting services at children hospital wrong..."

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Me and my daughter who is 11 weeks old got referred to Leicester Royal Children's Out-Patients which was located in the Windsor Ward.

We were referred to the hospital due to the health visitor picking up that my daughter may have positional Telapies ( club foot). The consultant we had at the hospital stated in a 5 minutes that my daughter didn't have telapies and then 2 minutes later stated she does have telapies and she needs to have 5 casts and boot and bar. The consultant didn't explain what Telapies were to me and didn't explain how the casting will work to put my mind at ease. The consultant was very rude and showed no care what so ever to my daughter.

I came out of the room and felt upset and completey deflated they did not answer any of my questions and just kept on giving me blunt answers.

so I was very clueless.

I wanted to get a second opinion so I went through Bupa and saw a very high up consultant who deals with Telapies. They told me my daughter did not have telapies and her feet will end up correcting themselves through minor exercises. They explained to me everything about telapies and not to worry at all because her feet are absolutely fine.

I am utterly disgusted at how that first consultant spoke and handled me and my daughter. we got a complete wrong diagnosis and if it was up that consultant and we hadn't gone privately my daughter would of gone through that horrible ordeal of having to go back to the hospital every week for 5 weeks for new casting and then 5 years of boot and bar which for the first year would have to wear 23 hours a day. From now on I will not be using these services and I will be going privately.
