No help from breastfeeding support services. They were called by my midwife and someone came out on their way home to drop off a breastpump, not an official visit, and told me someone would be around by the Friday (this was Wednesday) at the latest. No one arrived.
I told this to my midwife on the Monday and she just shrugged and said "oh well", I was desperate to be breastfeeding my baby who wouldn't latch but the midwifes didn't even try help me get her to latch they just pawned me off to the breastfeeding support workers who then never done their job and tried to blame everyone else.
A member of the midwife team was also extremely rude and called me "one of those hippy types" and told me I was "creating a rod for my own back". I have yet to actually receive what I think is an apology and acknowledgement of wrong doing on their part.
I never wish to use the maternity facilities in Fife again, especially Dunfermline area, if I can avoid it. They made me feel belittled, worthless even though I reached out and asked for help during a difficult time (showing signs of postnatal depression which they were aware of).
"I reached out and asked for help during a difficult time"
