"I am a regular visitor to the ..."

What I liked

I am a regular visitor to the rheumatology department at the MEH and am very happy with the service I have received. There is a consistency of care which is beyond what I expected for a London hospital. Given their reputation for a high turnover of staff, I have been seeing the same consultant and nurses for nearly 4 years. They are all extremely experienced and friendly and make an effort to get to know regular patients.

What could be improved

The only downsides to MEH are the long wait times for blood test (up to 3 hours!) the depressing environment that you have to wait in. Up until recently, and for some time, the corridors looked messy and uncared for, with exposed pipework and wires and dirty paintwork. Recent works have covered this but is already showing signs of wear and have overlooked things like the replacement of broken light fittings in the recpetion desk. The x-ray department in particular is like something from the communist era and is very intimidating! The consulting rooms have damp, a hotchpotch of old furniture and paint peeling, and do not feel especially clean, despite recent redecoration. I understand that all the services will be moved in a couple of years to a sparkling new Royal London Hospital so this can only improve.

To summarise: Cleanliness, environment, 3 hour wait for blood tests.
