"Amazing support for the managment of a long..."

About: Northern General Hospital / Diabetic medicine

The Diabetes Service at the Northern General Hospital has truly helped me so much; transferring to adult services was a scary thought but from day one there was support available whenever needed - the staff go above and beyond (especially the young people's nurses Vanessa and Sarah)

As a teenager you are treated with the upmost respect by the nurses as well as the consultants and are given independence with your condition: I also attended a Diabetes education course called WICKED

(Working with Insulin Carbs Ketones and Excercise for Diabetes) and that's helped me a lot in terms of my own managment of my diabetes.

The service is truly great and has a good model to support young people.
