"Hospital admission as an NHS Choose & Book..."

Referred by my GP to the NHS Choose & Book service, I am delighted to review my consultation and following treatment at BMI THe Edgbaston Hospital

My out-patient appointment was organised very easily and promptly and I saw my consultant in a very clean and professional environment. Hospital staff and consultant were very professional and always courteous.

It was recommended that I would need to have a small procedure undertaken, and this was also arranged promptly.

I have to say that as a patient in my late 50s who had only ever had one previous day case admission in an NHS hospital, I was nervous at the prospect of my admission.

However, on the day every member of staff was wonderful to me. I had to arrive early on the day and straight from my first contact on Reception, to all of the people I came into contact with in Theatres, they were exactly what I needed as a nervous patient!

All were so courteous and gave me confidence that I was doing the right thing in the right place.

My procedure was exactly as described by my consultant - no surprises, no drama, just a very confident and professional environment.

At the point of being discharged home, I knew precisely what to expect and at no point was I left wondering what happens next.

This whole experience was a complete credit to both the NHS and especially to all of

Team members at BMI The Edgbaston Hospital, who made a nervous patient feel that I had to compliment the service.

I would thoroughly recommend both the service and particularly the hospital to any one considering a similar course of action. If I had to face something similar in the future, I would not be quite so nervous after such an experience.
