"I went in for day surgery last ..."

What I liked

I went in for day surgery last wednesday morning 19/3/2008.

I thought the healthcare assistants and nurses were helpful and put you at ease when you got there, during the morning and after surgery.

I also thought that the anaesatist was very kind and reassuring because obviously i was quite anxious, like anyone would be before surgery.

Please could you pass my greatest thanks to the surgeon/staff involved in my care that morning.

What could be improved

Although i was assured that the operation was sucessful (apart from a minor blip) which was a great relief. However i would of liked to recieved a check up/ follow up phone call 48 hours- week after surgery. I appreciate that the NHS is stretched with its resources and to be fair i was given a number to call if any problems. Bearing in mind that i had an lacroscopic sterilisation after much thought and consideration of other options, it would of been nice to of received some sort of consultation/check up afterwards.
