"Reassuring staff on ward 7"

About: Ninewells Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Was sent from my GP to Ward 7 at Ninewells Hospital. I arrived at 8: 30am, before that area was open to receive patients; however, a lovely SN Cox and Student Nurse Sarah greeted me and made me comfortable and started my obs etc.

I was then seen by a specialist nurse and was kept up to date throughout my wait, on my expected wait time and what examination would be carried out, what information was needed, and what would happen next.

Finally, I was seen by a surgeon (Henderson) who was also very reassuring and the whole process was a happy one for me.

Thank you.

Dear "CT2710"

Thank you for providing your feedback relating to the positive experience you have had within our emergency admission unit. I will ensure that this information is shared with the team who will be delighted at you being so kind as to provide this. It is so important that the team provide reassurance to patients as it is extremely stressful coming into hospital, so it is lovely to hear that you felt informed and that staff were reassuring. I would like to wish you well and again thank you for taking the time to provide this compliment.

Kind regards

Lynn McAteer, Head of Nursing
