What I liked
The friendliness of the staff and the initial treatment up to the point of pre-op tests
What could be improved
Communication levels and information on the day as to how long the wait is for the pre-op tests. Three hours is too long after the initial speed of consultation with the doctor, x-rays etc prior to pre-op tests, then great delay (due to the length of the tests I appreciate). But in my husband's particular case he was diagnosed as having atrial fibrillation. The staff must have known that the treatment would involve Warfurin but told my husband they would fast track him when the condition had been stablised, which was not in fact the case, and further they waited three months before telling us they could not do the operation. This time was wasted in getting on to another hospital's list, which is lengthy, all the time my husband has been in constant pain from his hip joints. This lack of information has caused frustration on our part.
"The friendliness of the staff ..."
