"Thank you for saving my life"

About: Queen's Hospital / Urology

I am now two and a half years post op for radical prostatectomy followed by radiotherapy.

My initial consultation was with the consultant 'SG' - and while frightened by the high degree of cancer diagnosis (as proven on biopsies) - I felt in safe hands. My MRI scan and surgery revealed the cancer to be more invasive than first thought.

I feel privileged and very grateful for the expertise of all involved. Today I attended my six monthly follow up - two and a half years following surgery, my results are normal and I continue on follow-up.

All the doctors and nurses in the clinic are helpful and try to reduce anxiety.Clinic delays are acceptable as far as I am concerned as all the patients need varying times with the doctor - and this cannot be foreseen before the consultation. I am happy to wait - can always read the paper.

Thank you for being there for me.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment.

It is wonderful news that your results have come back normal two and a half years following surgery.

I am pleased that the care you have been provided during your journey has been so good and that everyone who has treated you has been helpful and helped reduce your anxiety.

I will ensure that your lovely comments are passed on to the Divisional Nurse for this area for her to share with her staff.

Yours sincerely

Dr Magda Smith

Associate Medical Director
