"Rheumatology"

About: New Cross Hospital / Rheumatology

The responses I have had since Wednesday this week with the department have been nothing less than abismal. Despite trying to get through to the Help Line which is always engaged, speak to senior staff who say they will respond but don't call back and leave answer phone messages for Directors, who also do not respond. With all all of this I'm still lay up at home unable to walk and no responses means the pain is only getting worse and worse. How is it that despite being with the department for approx 10 years and they know the problems, when you need assistance no one bothers about you! So, then PALS are contacted, only for no one there to answer. So, again you have to leave another message. As the condition of Gout is not really covered at A&E and they refer you back to the department. This department has now left me many times over the last 14 months unable to stand up, let alone walk around. There is also a specialist who worked there, that when you had appointments who was completely unfit to be a specialist. Enough is enough now with this department. If only someone would answer a call or respond knowing that you have left messages for them. I suppose with the way things are in the department the only options are to raise these issues to the GMC and legal action. Despite having a previous appointment in January and being told I would be referred as urgent, 4 weeks later and still nothing! I can not afford to just keep sitting at home, hoping someone may decide to call. I do have a job, which the hospital is now causing further stress due to the treatment I am not receiving.
