"Transport hame after brought in on emergency ambulance"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Patient Transport Service University Hospital Ayr / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I was brought in by ambulance with chest pains after calling 999 yesterday when on an irregular discharge I was given transport home.

Nurse in Ayr A & E says no transport as not classed as an inpatient. With Angina, carer responsibilities meaning only driver in household, would have thought having mentioned not used public transport before I would qualify for transport?

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear rayfaetroon60,

I am sorry you had a problem getting home, without more details it is not possible to understand the decision. I suspect it would be best to look into your specific situation so we can understand. If you would like to call me on 01563 826222 or email me on eunice.goodwin@aapct.scot.nhs.uk we can look into this for you.

In the mean time I will pass this to the A&E team for their reflection.

I hope everything is well with you now,

best wishes,

Eunice
