"She couldnt have done a better job at putting me at ease"

About: Fife Community Services NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as the patient),

I am waiting to have a tooth extracted which unfortunatly cracked and part broke off over the weekend. Contacted NHS 24 and was given an emergency dental appointment at Glenwood Dental Practice (Glenrothes). I am someone who hates going to the dentist and I was so nervous about going to an unfamiliar dentist. I shouldnt have been worrried the reception staff were lovely and April the dentist that fixed my tooth was so kind, caring and calming. She couldnt have done a better job at putting me at ease. I cannot thank her enough!

Dear Annoyedpatient

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience with both NHS 24 and the Glenwood Dental Practice. I share your apprehension about the dentist; however like you, my experience is always actually very positive and every time I come away wondering why I was nervous going in. What you describe, in terms of the welcome from the Receptionist is so important, as first impressions really do make a big difference when you are feeling nervous. It was good to hear that April too made you feel calm and cared for and was able to put you at ease. I will make sure your feedback is shared with the Practice and I know they will greatly appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback.

Regards

Louise
