"Make sure the postive reaction is better than the negative action"

About: Locked & Specialist Rehab / Ashby Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

It would be very difficult to mention one person who has made a difference as there are so many. There are 2 who went out of their way to help me. I think that the activity co-ordinator role is a good role and all wards should have one. It's the conversation that goes on as well when the activity is going on that makes the difference. I think every action has a reaction and I think its about making sure that the positive reaction is better than the negative action.

Absolutely agree with you! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I am pleased they are positive. Yes, the Activity Co-ordinator has been a great success and I believe other areas in the hospital are now looking at these. You are absolutely right - it is very much about the interaction and that is always more positive when people are enjoying what they are doing and are relaxed. I will feed back to the staff as they will be delighted at your positive comments.

With best wishes Lynn
