"Plasm exchange to control Myasthenia Gravis"

About: Kent & Canterbury Hospital / Neurology

I have a incurable autoimmune disease called Myasthenia Gravis which is controlled by undergoing five rounds of Plasma Exchange in Marlowe Ward under the supervision of the Neurology Team in Treble Ward. This is carried out over a one week stay in Treble Ward whilst being treated in Marlowe. Both teams are simply fantastic and the procedure allows me a normal life until it has to be done again in five or so months time. The commitment of the medical staff, doctors and all the support staff shines. As I am a "regular" in both wards, I cannot praise all concerned to highly. Better still free wi-for means time passes by well.
