Yesterday evening my Mum, attended A and E at ARI following a fall.
After an XRAY she was admitted to Ward 304 in ARI overnight. We were very keen for her to be discharged home as quickly as possible which meant liaising to ensure that increased care would be available to her at home.
We are lucky that we already have a very good care team from Paramount care supporting Mum at home but more support was needed. I found Sheila, who is a staff nurse and the discharge co-ordinator, very helpful indeed in making arrangements. She was also cheerful and showed warmth and humour in her dealings with me and my Mum.
Other members of the team, including the OT and the pharmacist were also very helpful. Mum is home again - thank you.
