"Hysterectomy and oophorectomy"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill) / Gynaecology

I was supposed to get a bed the day before my op but despite the very busy staff trying hard, I could not be accommodated - this caused me a lit of worry and stress about even getting my op the next day. I got a hotel and returned for 7:00 am as requested. I waited 5 hours and eventygot my bed and my op. The staff were professional and lovely. I was asked my name and details so many times and it was very reassuring- the theatre staff were also conscientious but added fun to lighten my slight tension -the head anaesthesiologist was hilarious - really made me relax. I'm very grateful to them all. Ward auxillary staff, cleaners. Tea staff, staff who did the food, nurses, sister, all theatre staff, and Consultant. My heartfelt thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at what must have been a worrying time.

I am sorry to hear that there was a long delay in getting a bed but please that your operation was completed successfully and that staff helped to put you at ease. I do hope that you are recoving well.
