"The wrong treatment was offered"

About: Shropshire and Staffordshire Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a relative),

My wife fell in the garden, she went to A&E the rolling day, a bone was found to be broken in her foot, a boot was fitted, however, upon returning to the hospital, she complained about pains in her left leg, to be fair to the hospital X-rays on he leg and hip were taken but nothing found, she was sent to physio at the hospital, after 8 weeks, there was no improvement.

She was referred back to her GP, who referred her to the hospital to see a back specialist, but was only allowed to refer her to a private company called PAIN MANAGEMENT, after a long wait, we attended a visit to a doctors practice, where we were told, that they didn't recommend spinal injections, but would like my wife to attend 'group discussions ' regarding her to be able her to live with her chronic pain.

We turned down this "alternative" type of so called treatment, as all of this was being talked about without x-rays or indeed medical information,

we then had to be referred back to the GP who then re-referred us back to the hospital to see a back consultant, however once again we were offered physio at a private company, upon informing TEMS that this avenue had been done.

At last after 9 months of continuous pain, we are now under a consultant and after a CT scan a trapped nerve has been found, the problem is that because of TRAQS & TEMS. The wrong treatment was offered, and I feel that they are taking the doctors power of referrals away from them.

How can employing TRAQS & Tems, as well as outside private physio as well as Holistic type of cures be in the best interest of either patient or NHS funding? I have since put in a complaint, but do not expect it to be upheld.
